In the spring 2010, we had the pleasure of making a 6-foot tiger for the World Wildlife Fund. According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2010 is the year of the tiger. Originally, the tiger was going to be shipped to Qatar, but due to shipping costs, the tiger was eventually sent packing to Washington, D.C.   Andrea completed a 6-foot giraffe for the Mount Sinai Hospital located in Miami Beach. Preschool children brushed on a glue/water mix (with a little help from Andrea and me) and added layers of colored tissue paper. The young children did a terrific job! The colorful giraffe looks great. (add photo)Andrea and I were selected (along with a few other Florida artists) to paint individual 7-foot alligator sculptures.  From September until November 2010, I’ll be the featured artist at the ArtsPark at Young Circle, located in Downtown Hollywood, Florida. (http://www.visithollywoodfl.org/artspark.aspx). It’s a great facility and I’m looking forward to it. I should have about 12-14 sculptures on display. It’s been an incredibly busy summer for both Andrea and I. Although we both work full time (I’m a librarian; Andrea’s an art teacher), we’ve done a host of papier mache programs all over Florida. Andrea also presents a monthly craft program at the Funtastic Fridays for Kids event in downtown Hollywood.Our summer program schedule included trips throughout Florida.
