My name is DiVitto Kelly and I am a papier–mâché sculpture artist. Many of my sculptures are inspired by
marine creatures, especially sharks. While each sculpture has an essence of reality, I enjoy applying bright colors and textures to
enhance their playfulness.
Most of my sculptures range from two to seven feet in length, but my largest was a 13-foot shark. It was so enormous I needed
to rent a U-Haul truck to move it. While most of the sculptures are large, and in some cases very large, they are in fact only a few pounds
in weight. And because they are so lightweight, you can hang them from most ceilings and walls. I also make freestanding animals such as
dinosaurs and birds.
I focus on displaying the sculptures at educational facilities such as libraries, schools, aquariums and nature centers to educate students
about sea animals and the art of papier mache. I've always had a deep-sea appreciation for nature, especially the ocean.
Enjoy!
